SEEING THE GRACE OF GOD THROUGH THE SPECTACLES OF MEN

SEEING THE GRACE OF GOD THROUGH THE SPECTACLES OF MEN.

What are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become a plain; and he will bring forth the top stone with shouts of “Grace, grace to it!”‘”
Zachariah 4:7

The authority and power given to us through adoption as sons which cries “abba , father “ sometimes deludes us (our humanity) of the fact that God as our father is still the LORD our God. We sometimes look over the fact that bowing before a King is a requirement even for royals. We therefore ought to make sure our knees ain’t far from the ground when we are elevated by the power given us through grace.

Apostle Paul speaking in power made a striking statement in 1Corinthians 4:6-7 saying: “Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that you may learn in us not to think beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up on behalf of one against the other. For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it? “

The privileges given to us through adoption are so enormous in Christ, thus, we turn to gear towards disorder if not kept in balance. The power given to us through the spirit reminds us of our nakedness/weakness outside Christ. Apostle Paul therefore puts the Corinth church in remembrance that ,whatever they had and whoever they were was as a result of what they had received from above.

We need to make a conscious effort to eject ourselves from our high thrones and join the 24 elders as they cast down their crown shouting , “holy holy”, acknowledging the holistic balance of God being Abba and LORD; a reflection of love/mercy and justice.

Apostle Paul again said that,
“But whatever I am now, it is all because God poured out his special favor on me—and not without results. For I have worked harder than any of the other apostles; yet it was not I but God who was working through me by his grace” , 1 Corinthians 15:10.

The applause of men is not necessarily a mirror image of their loyalty. Seeing through man’s spectacles the grace of God will elevate one’s self above the purpose and will of God. The grace and power of God given to man is to fully equip him for good works where glory will be ascribed to God alone, forever and ever.
