Is there ever a thing like ” we are meant for each other”?

For some years now, I have been thinking about the usual statemen “we are meant for each other”. I kind off wonder if there is eve such a thing. Primarily due to the fact that I have been in and out of relationships which I thought would last from the onset because I felt we “were meant for each other” but they just didn’t.
Most people just tell me that my past relationships didn’t work because maybe we were not “meant for each other”. I find that explanation a bit jittery because the onset of my past relationships was very good and we both had nice moments until certain things set in and we just had to part ways. Mind you, for me as a person, before I even propose to a lady there is a very long friendship period, meant to test whether we could live together as lovers. So, the issues of compatibility in terms of character and temperament wise isn’t there.
What I have come to realize and believe is that there is nothing as a person “meant for you”. Because no matter how compactible you two may seem from the onset, the love journey would never be perfect. There are always going to be very bad situations to deal with and if not properly dealt it, you might lose each other
Moreover, according to the Holy Bible, apart from Adam whose partner we can say was meant for him, because she was taken directly from him, no one else has had the same experience again. we are all just left to chance to find a partner who suits us.
In view of this, as young ones, I believe we have to expense more time and efforts in making our relationships work rather than always looking for the person who is “meant for us” or thinking that the person we are with isn’t the one “meant for us”. Mind you there are also situations where quitting a relationship is better than staying. We just need to find the right balance. It all boils down to knowing just how much is too much.

  • Thanks for this article. Whether we “are meant for each other” or “are not meant for each other,” without work and understanding, it ends up where you did not think it will.
