It was in early 2000s when boys boys had strong joint and food connections. 

We had good ties with every home that made food available. Every good food selling joint was on our directory. 

We were in a class of our own after church. Things were getting better day by day so we had more members to our clan. Elders and Deacons, instrumentalists, Ushers and some die hard ladies became our loyalists.  The only name we came up with was the MATAYA GROUP. 

On our mind at church and after church was food food and food.

The fascinating thing about our group was that it was a privilege for us to eat in your house. At a point people had to wait in line for over a month to get a booking ‘oh what a world’.

Our typical morning starts from the Kenkey Boutique after Sunday school running us through Derick’s mums Ice Kenkey kiosk for a 1Liter, which only Legends understand or you say ‘We no Dey chop Chaw’. We were a formidable group, skilful in everything we do. 

Who would have thought that Very hard working individuals would come together to form a very formidable Team called the MATAYA Group.
